National ActivitiesNational level activities are focusing on expanding the legislative and political framework for wetland protection and improving coordination of wetland conservation efforts within and beyond national borders. Countries are implementing measures to strengthen legislation, policies and plans; include biodiversity considerations to regional planning; monitor habitats and bird populations; train local staff, and educate the general public of the importance of preserving the functioning of these wetlands and the Siberian Crane.
